• Zoning - regulation and permitting of the use of land and structures. Ransom Township is divided into seven zone districts (Agricultural, Rural Residential, Suburban Residential, Neighborhood Commercial, General Commercial/Manufacturing, Heavy Manufacturing & Open Space/Conservation).

• Subdivision & Land Development - regulation of the creation of new lots or changes in the property lines; also regulation of construction of public or private improvements to land (Single-Family dwellings are exempt from these regulations).

• Sewage Facilities - regulation and permitting of sanitary sewers and on-lot septic systems.

• Flood Plain Management - regulation of development or construction within areas designated by the Federal Government as "flood plains".

• Storm Water Management - regulation of runoff and soil erosion from development.

• Uniform Construction Code - statewide regulations and permitting for construction, renovations, and repairs to dwellings and structures.

• Garbage Junk Storage - regulation and licensing of garbage and junk storage areas.
